Can big ceiling fans go above racking?

Certain clearances must be met between overhead fan blades and racking. We have worked successfully above racking to great effect for moving the hot air from the top of the racks and dispersing evenly. Refer to our destratificaiton fan (Hornet) for the best solution for massive airflow in these tigher spaces.

How do I know what size fan I need?

What is the difference in airflow between a portable, wall or ceiling high volume low speed (HVLS) fan?

The main differences between wall or portable HVLS fans and ceiling HVLS fans are their installation location, airflow direction, and the size of the area they can effectively cover. Wall and floor HVLS fans provide horizontal airflow, whereas ceiling HVLS fans are suspended from the ceiling, generating a vertical airflow pattern to cool and circulate air in large spaces.

How high does my ceiling need to be for industrial fans?

Ceiling heights of >6m is needed for industrial HVLS fan installations. Our highest install to date has been in a 17m high ceiling. For best airflow coverage the fan blades should be at minimum 4.5m high, with plenty of space between the ceiling and the blades. A minimum clearance of 3m from the floor to ceiling is required to meet the building code.

How long does installation of fans take?

For commercial and industrial fans the installation can vary, depending on the length of the cable run and fire relays / BMS integration required. Allow 1 day per fan.
